The main opposition Presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has told XYZ News in an exclusive interview that he will fix the development deficit in the Western region if elected as President in the December polls.
According to him, he is committed to that promise and will carry it through if he wins the election.
Speaking in an interview with XYZ News’ Western regional Correspondent Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, Nana Akufo Addo said Government has failed to sufficiently recognize the contributions that Western region has made to the growth of the nation.
“The contribution that Western region makes to the wealth of Ghana has not been sufficiently recognized by Ghana and that is why you have a major deficit in infrastructure, education institutions, employment and job creation in the area” Nana Akufo Addo said.
He added that “the people must understand that we can’t treat this new wealth that the Western region has found in the Western region just like another raw material. We are going to immediately put in place measures for the wealth to be used for the development of industries in the Western region”.
