The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie says Ghanaians must must rise and vote the NPP back into power to reverse retrogression and put the country back on track.
According to him, the NDC has failed Ghanaians with its inept and weak leadership and the only way to ensure that Ghana succeeds it to vote for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the upcoming December elections.
The NPP General Secretary was addressing scores of delegates at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday where the NPP manifesto and campaign was officially launched.
He stated that the NPP is committed to run a campaign devoid of insults, personal attacks and character assassination.
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John charged NPP delegates to start vigorous campaign and sell the message of the NPP to the people of Ghana to ensure that the NPP returns to power.
National Chairman of the NPP, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey on his part labeled the NDC government as the worst government in the history of Ghana.
According to him, many of the development policies and programmes that the NPP government under President Kufuor put in place have been rolled back due to the incompetence of the NDC.
He said the change that Ghana needs requires strong vision and strong leadership and the only way to provide this to Ghanaians, is for Ghanaians to rise and vote out the NDC government.
He admonished NPP delegates and party faithfuls not to be complacent and stay united to fight the tough battle of winning the December election.
Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey added that the only thing that can destroy the chances of the NPP winning the December polls is not the NDC but the NPP itself adding that “we must stand united and fight the battle as one”.
He said the NPP is near to the finishing line and they must ensure that they don’t slip.
“we must not be complacent. We must realize that the NDC, as disjointed as it is, is still a formidable electoral fighting machine so we must not take anything for granted. We must make sure that we are still speeding up as we cross that finish line…We have to make sure that we don’t slip at this time that we are so near to the finishing line”.
