Renowned economist and politician, Kwame Pianim, has retired as the chairman of the board of directors of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana, Radio XYZ can confirm.
General Manager of the newly opened Royal Nick Hotel at Tema says the high rate of complacency is gradually killing the hotel industry in Ghana.
Ronald Stilting is therefore urging the players to improve their maintenance culture to help improve the hotel industry.
He told XYZ Business in an interview that such a move will help improve the quality of service delivery.
“I have been in the Ghanaian hospitality industry for twelve years now and since then there has been enormous boom in the number of hotels” Mr. Stilting said.
Mr. Stilting added that “the key issue for the success of the Royal Nick Hotel is going to be the service aspects and the training of the staff. If we don’t manage to train our staff, eventually you would not succeed; you may have a short term success”.
Mr. Stilting also urged the government to assist the industry with the training of quality human resource for the industry to survive.
